Landlords, Paul and Charlotte own and live above their busy bar. They have a personal phone line to their living accommodation and a business line to the bar.

In the past they were constantly running from upstairs to downstairs to answer calls and had no way of transferring calls to each other.

“We looked at small switch systems but decided that the initial expense plus the cost and inconvenience of installation made it a non starter” said Paul.

Charlotte added “for me the idea of drilling through the floors to route wires, and tacking them to skirting boards etc. was the deciding factor – we would rather run between the two phones than have a system installed”

“The DECTsys PABX was “installed” in under 2 minutes, just a single box plugged into both lines under the stairs where the 2 main phone sockets are and then another 5 minutes of reading the manuals and that was it, a fully functional PABX with display handsets and NO wiring”

“The great thing for me is the speakerphone in the handset, so many of the suppliers we phone have automated hold systems and in the past I used to balance the receiver between my ear and neck (very painful) until I got through to the person I needed. Now I can carry on working and talk through the speakerphone – in my pocket – very useful when I’m stock taking or doing other administrative tasks” said Paul.

Charlotte is now looking to add another 2 extra handsets for her staff so that they can also benefit from being in touch wherever they are within the building. At a cost of just £99.99 for each extra handset and charger adding extensions is a no-brainer.

“It would cost far more than that just to have a wired extension fitted and then we would still have to buy a phone to plug into it.”

All in all Paul & charlotte are delighted with their new system and feel that it improved their communications beyond their expectations.

“I can’t think why anyone with a similar business, bar, restaurant, retail, newsagent etc. would want a wired system, and most of them are still on rental so it’s costing them every quarter – go out and get one now and save yourself money, hassle and time.”
